ABOUT US

Hello and welcome to FOR LUMARK,
a theme-based fan-fiction festival centering on LUMARK as a pairing. 🧡

This fic fest uses the prompt-and-claim system which allows anyone to either submit their prompt(s) based on the current season’s theme and/or claim prompt(s) from the prompt archive once it has opened.

Thank you for joining us
and we hope you’ll enjoy this fic fest! ⛵️

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT IS A FIC FEST?

A fic fest is a challenge wherein participants can either or both submit and/or claim a prompt—or prompts—from the completed prompt list (prompt archive) compiled by the moderators.

WHICH TIMEZONE ARE YOU FOLLOWING?

FOR LUMARK follows the China Standard Time (UTC +8). You can check the current time and date for this timezone here.

CAN WE WITHDRAW FROM THE FIC FEST?

Of course! Fic fests can be overwhelming and we completely understand and respect your wishes if you wish to withdraw from the fest. Just notify us about it, no need to give us the reason, so we can sort out our prompt archive.

WHERE CAN WE CONTACT YOU?

For any queries or concerns, please don’t hesitate to DM us on Twitter or send us an e-mail via [email protected]. We also accommodate questions sent through our CuriousCat account.

As this is our first time moderating a fic fest, we still have a lot to learn, but please do not hesitate to approach us! We will try to answer your question(s) as best as we can. 🧡

GENERAL GUIDELINES

Whether romantic, platonic, or even implied and/or pre-relationship, the central pairing of your work(s) must be LUMARK.

Side ships are okay! However, if you wish to add any Lucas-centric or Mark-centric pairings as side ships, please keep in mind to still make your work LUMARK-centric. Otherwise, it would defeat the purpose of the fest.

All works, either one-shots or chaptered, must have a minimum of 1500 words. For chaptered works, you must have at least completed two chapters by the last check-in. You can continue writing your work(s) even after the fic fest has finished.

Please write your work(s) in English. Should you wish to write any words, phrases, or sentences in other languages, including conlang, please make sure to include a translation either in the work itself or as a footnote.

Sexual content is allowed. However, please always use appropriate tags and warnings, and/or include trigger warnings if necessary.

Non-con, incest, and sexualization of minors are not allowed.

Plagiarism will not be tolerated. Since the first season of the fic fest is inspired by existing works (i.e. movies, TV series, and books), please don’t forget to cite it in the Notes section of AO3.

Please be reminded that your identities will be anonymous all throughout the fest until the reveal date. However, feel free to talk about your prompts and/or works if you want to. We simply request that you do not reveal which one is yours.

Communication is key. If you have any questions for the writer or the prompter, please contact us and we will be the one to relay your question(s) and/or message(s) to them.

Should there be any changes in either your AO3 usernames or the title of your work(s), we would very much appreciate if you could communicate them to us.

PROMPTING AND CLAIMING

☄︎ We will post the forms for the prompt submission and prompt claiming on our Twitter account once the respective events start.

☄︎ We will make our themes as broad as possible for everyone’s convenience. For our prompters, please kindly fill out the necessary sections in the prompt submission form to indicate which details you want to see. However, we ask that you let the writers have some creative freedom.

☄︎ Submitting more than one prompt is highly encouraged! There will be no limit as to how many prompts you can submit. However, please note that each prompt should be filled up in separate forms to avoid any confusion.

☄︎ For prompters, please indicate the original title of the work you’ll be basing your prompt on (ex. Good Omens, Red, White & Royal Blue, etc.)

☄︎ There will also be no limit as to how many prompts a writer could claim, but please only take what you can handle. We want this fest to be enjoyable for everyone and we wouldn’t want to make you feel burdened or overwhelmed.

☄︎ You can claim prompts until our final check-in!

☄︎ Upon claiming your prompt(s), a confirmation e-mail will be sent to you within 24-48 hours.

☄︎ We acknowledge that a lot of writers may be feeling burned out from joining other prompt-based fests so we will be allowing self-prompting! Please note that the self-prompting forms will only be posted on the day of the claiming open.

CHECK-INS

The first and second check-ins only serve as updates regarding your work’s progress and therefore do not require any minimum word count. By the last check-in, however, your work(s) should have already reached 1500 words.

You can send screenshots of your work’s current word count via e-mail at [email protected] or through our Twitter DMs.

If you need any extensions for the last check-in, do not hesitate to contact and/or inform us.
